It is a wonderful space but I think more could be made of it, as a venue for events, if a stage was installed. Given that there must be a number of engineering bods amongst you, surely you could construct such a thing yourselves? The investment would see a return as more people would then want to use it; and stage hire is very expensive. ... See MoreSee Less

Problem is Martin it would have to be a removable structure as the prime purpose of the hall is an exhibition space

Please don't take risks! It is incredibly disappointing that despite repeated warnings, some people chose to risk their lives and the lives of others by going onto the railway tracks to view the Flying Scotsman over the weekend.

Incidents were reported along the line, with significant disruption near to Cam and Dursley railway station in Gloucestershire.

Officers attended this station at around 8.40pm after reports of around 50 or so people trespassing. It is believed that those involved were attempting to see the Flying Scotsman.

We understand that people are excited, but the railway is a hazardous environment and trespassers endanger their safety and that of others.

The disruption caused to trains as a result of the trespass over the weekend meant that many people were affected by the actions of the trespassers.

We will monitor the situation as the Flying Scotsman continues its journey.

BTP officers are proactively patrolling to support the Flying Scotsman and anyone found trespassing could be prosecuted.

We would like to remind everyone once again that trespassing can kill. It is simply not worth the risk.

An added bonus for anybody onsite at 18:05 this evening the steam loco Clan Line is due to pass the site en-route to Chester.

Will there be any reduction in the entrance fee for people who want to visit but cannot until late this evening?

Been there.

Serendipity that work took me to Crewe today and I was able to grab a while to visit the centre, never having been before. The crew lovingly wiping and tending to her was very touching 🙂

What a place to park a van!!!

The first person to visit Flying Scotsman this year at the Heritage Centre was Crewe Town Council's new Mayor, Cllr Diane Yates.
We would like to thank Crewe Town Council and the Mayor of Crewe for all their continued support.
