On behalf of the Trust and myself I would like to thank all our volunteers and supporters for their efforts over the course of our anniversary weekend. Despite the failure of several parties who promised to attend, the weekend was still a great success. I would also like to thank DRS & GBRF for loaning their locomotives and to DJ Models, the various layout owners and other exhibitors for their support of this event.

I went to it last Saturday I throught it was a big let down could had more stalls there in steam no Duchess's there wayne

What were the reasons for the no-show by contributors?

My wife and I visited on the Sunday, travelling to Crewe for the first time, and were pleasantly surprised at how much there was to see and do, though I suspect that the Event meant we saw things at their very best. My only criticism is that you gave no advice on parking in the Event publicity when your own, very small car park was always likely to be swamped on a special weekend. It would have been handy to know that Tesco allows three hours free parking and also that the council car parks at Cross Street, where we parked, are about five minutes gentle walk away. They're cheap enough at Β£2.10 for four hours but free on Sundays.

Sad not to have been able to attend, especially so bearing in mind involvement there thirty years ago (how can it possibly be that long?!) but commitments at Shrewsbury with changed dates there had to be the priority unfortunately. Hope you all had a great time.

Visited on Sunday after going to the Kingmoor open on Saturday. Weather was better too n lots to see n do very helpful volunteers too. The highlight was being able to use the RM bus to get back to Crewe station, lots of memories there so thanks for that.

Brilliant day out on Saturday 😊 Only complaint, no food available, had to go to Tesco for sandwiches but overall, excellent day

Really enjoyed it on Saturday thank you for a great day out

I attended on Sunday and enjoyed the event - congratulations to all involved.

Went on Sunday all I wanted was to see was Duchess of Sutherland and wasn't disappointed. Great day

Are there any plans to return the apt to the mainline or is that not possible? ... See MoreSee Less

Comment on Facebook

Anything is possible, but depends how deep the pocket is.

If the apt was to return to the mainline what changes would have to be made inside the cab to bring it upto date with mainline standards?

Unfortunately I'm not an expert. It would need consultation with the office of rail regulation and network rail.

It would be awesome to see the apt move again, be good to see the tilt in motion and fully working
