Crewe heritage centre open this weekend 10 till 3 with visiting miniature steam locomotives Idris and Molly
The APT crowdfunder has now finished. We reached our target of £2,700 with an overall amount of £2,845 ! Once Crowdfunder deduct their percentage we will receive around £2,600. This is a fantastic acheivement and all done with the help of your very kind donations. Once again thankyou all for your kindness in donating and getting the power car back to Crewe. Brian Porter.

I'd like to say a huge Thank You to the gentleman from your signalbox who took time out to improve my little lads engine recognition skills this afternoon. As you probably gathered he is train mad (anything with a yellow front has to be a Class 37) & you have made his day. I will hopefully catch you again when we next visit. 🙂

News as regarding the APT power car. As your aware the target as been met and more, i'm just waiting for the safety checks on the power car from the NRM before booking the move. The crowd funder is still active until the 13th December, then it automatically closes, and surplus money will go towards the restoration part of the project...which is quite a bit lol. We’ve just had confirmation from the gang over on the APT P UK Class 370. They have been working hard campaigning to get money together to move the APT Power Car from the closed Coventry Railway Museum to Crewe Heritage Centre.
They have confirmed that tonight the Crowdfunder page has hit its target.
Thankyou to every single person who has dontated towards the campaign and a huge thankyou to Railcam for their continued Support.
The fundraiser is still open and donations are still welcomed as they will go towards the restoration of the vehicle.

In your Crewe North Junction signal box entrance area, you had very large photocopies of old maps. They looked very interesting with lots of details. But at about £6 for a large sheet of paper they were too expensive for me. I think you could make some extra money for your cause if you offered them for a more affordable price. Especially if you found someone who could copy them for less. I think offering them in the various local history groups would be popular. You don't need to supply them in tubes.
The first lot of CD's have been posted off today so you should get them by Tuesday at latest. For anyone who haven't sent their address yet please do so, or if you want a CD please donate £10 minimum to to recieve one. Many thanks.
Just found these photos that Hughie Williams gave me. He took these when they moved the APT from its original position to where it is now. As can be seen the other power car, the one we're getting back, is in the consist. It was taken out while doing the move as there wasn't enough room to put it in. A great bit of engineering.

I've come with an idea. For all those who have donated £10 and over and those who will donate £10 + i will send a CD which contains these original manuals, scanned and put onto CD. Now bear in mind these are scanned from original documents so will show signs of that. All the people who have donated please send me your address, i already have your names on the crowd funder page.
