good day out We visited having purchased a discounted voucher.We enjoyed the whole afternoon and found the Heritage Centre offered interesting things to see and do for all ages. As an older couple we especially enjoyed the viewing area where the trains in and out of Crewe station passed close by so close by that the driver of a passing Arriva train waved to us. My husband was shown how to operate the signals. The volunteer staff were helpful and friendly. My criticism as in a prior review was the lack of directions from Crewe station we also asked directions although on the way back to the station was more clearly signed and therefore much quicker.We would recommend this attraction as a good, reasonably priced day out for all ages.

Great hands-on, value-for-money family attraction. I visited the centre during the Easter holidays with my husband and train-mad son, having purchased a discounted voucher on Amazon Local. I was highly impressed with the range of hands-on activities and the variety of things to do with an appeal across all tastes and age groups. For example, it’s possible to sit in the stationary APT and the diesel driver’s carriage whilst trying out the control panel, etc. There are also full-sized signals to operate, and the model railway is great fun. Furthermore, within the main exhibition shed, there are a number of working model displays laid out and a children’s play area with Thomas the Tank engine toys, track and a wide range of story books. However, for those (like me!) wanting a more leisurely experience, it’s a joy to sit in the close-up viewing areas and watch the modern-day trains breeze in and out of Crewe Station. Refreshments and gifts are very reasonably priced, useful if you’re visiting with a number of children. Washroom facilities are also immaculate, which makes a pleasant change. The volunteer staff went out of their way to make us welcome, with one offering us some additional free posters and DVDs for our son to take home. My only criticism, which has nothing to do with the site, is that it needs to be more clearly, and prominently, signposted from Crewe Station, as we were obliged to ask directions from a helpful lady within the Virgin travel lounge at Crewe. We really enjoyed our visit, and look forward to returning. Thanks, everyone!

Crewe Heritage shines. Its a great little place with lots to see and new bits and bobs being added all the time. Well worth a visit.
