The first Universal Model Show in aid of Help for Heroes to take place at the Crewe Heritage Centre, following the closure of its former venue of the Oakleigh Centre, has been a great success thanks to the members of the South Cheshire Military Modelling Club and the volunteers at the Centre. Thanks also go to the staff at LNWR Heritage for their assistance in clearing the exhibition hall for the event which was much appreciated. The weather kept dry on the day and there were plenty of visitors to admire the wonderful collection of models on display.

It was a great venue/setting for this meeting. I have been to most of the ones at The Oakleigh Centre and this one topped the lot. Great pity there are no more until October. Maybe the lads from the Model Railway group at Alsager could be persuaded to put on a show? They did set-up their displays etc at The Oakleigh Centre up to a couple of years ago and it made a great weekend event. They only do one nowadays in Alsager. Looking out on your website for other events – keep them coming please. ‘O’Gauge Phil.
